Heavy and whimsical. Sep 11, 2010
By J. Blair These rabbits still make me chuckle every time I see my mantle, and nearly every guest comments on them (young and old!). They are quite heavy and have a grippy bottom, so they do a good job of holding up hardcover tomes without scooting. They appear less glossy in person than in the photo, but that makes them look more like genuine iron.
I bought another pair of rabbits to "hold up" other things in the house such as a pillar candle and an old clock.

Fabulous Bookends! May 12, 2011
By Berlyn I absolutely love these. They came today and they're the perfect size, a little larger than they look in the picture and the perfect weight to hold up my growing book collection. These would also be a fun and unique gift.

Heavier than expected Feb 13, 2012
By Sara_D I ordered these mostly because they are bunnies and had minimal expectations that they would function well as bookends, so when they arrived I was surprised by their weight! These bunnies are very solid and will even hold up a heavy encyclopedia. Like others, my bunnies arrived with a more matte finish than shown in the picture, but I like it better. For $30ish dollars, these are a wonderful (and durable) addition to my shelves!

Finish not as shown Sep 14, 2011
By Lani I do like these bookends and appreciate the lining on the bottoms to protect my bookshelf. The finish is not really like it appears in the photos, though; the bookends I received are matte black with no tonal variations aside from two or three minute coppery specks and they smell suspiciously like spray paint. I might try sanding them down a bit to reveal more of the copper tones, to add interest and to make them look less cheap. Perhaps SPI modified their manufacturing process since the photos were taken? All in all, though, I'm pleased with the product - good weight, and they add a subtle touch of whimsy to an otherwise serious office. :)

Adorable and functional Jan 01, 2012
By KK I gave these as a gift for Christmas and I was pleased with the quality and the look of these bookends. My daughter is using them in her kitchen to hold her cookbooks. Practical and very nicely done!
